Therapeutic Massage

The Therapist/Practitioner and you will choose the massage to fit your requirements and enhance the benefits of your fitness program. Many modalities are mixed in and utilized as you need them such as stretching, energy work, and pressure points.

Your massage can include techniques as outlined below:

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy involves finding and holding them until they release.  Trigger point therapy is a bodywork technique that involves the applying of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. Sometimes massage and trigger point therapy are performed together. Trigger point therapy is also called myofascial trigger point therapy. Trigger points may be associated with myofascial pain syndromes or fibromyalgia. Trigger points are very common. The purpose of trigger point therapy is to eliminate pain and to re-educate the muscles into pain-free habits.  After several treatments, the swelling and stiffness of neuromuscular pain is reduced, range of motion is increased, tension is relieved, and circulation is improved.

Foot Reflexology
Also known as Reflex Zone Therapy, Foot Reflexology is a type of foot massage that is meant for more than just feeling good. Where a basic foot massage has particular strokes that are solely meant to relax the feet as well as the person, foot reflexology is meant to increase the health and well being in the whole body.

Foot Reflexology is a holistic approach to health and well-being that involves stimulating all body systems that are "reflected" in the feet. In your one hour session you can expect a comprehensive foot massage that will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Foot Reflexology, can be beneficial in many ways. Instantly the massage will increase blood supply. While foot reflexology isn't a cure-all for any type of illness in every individual, there have been many cases of patients who have been treated for a variety of conditions. The following are just a few examples of conditions that foot reflexology has treated in the past:

Hiccups
Headaches
Depression
Allergies
Backaches
Indigestion

This can be a complete 1 hour session in itself. This is great for those who are uncomfortable with being undressed.

Cranio-Sacral

Swedish
Long soothing, relaxing strokes, kneading and friction on more superficial layers of muscles.

Shiatsu
Shiatsu, the Japanese word for 'finger pressure' is an Asian therapy of physical and energy rebalance. Usually it is defined as an oriental "massage" but it is much more than that. Pressure is applied to the areas of energy lines (meridians) to promote good health by stimulating the body's energy flow. It acts through pressure with thumbs, fingers and palms applied to determined areas and points of the human body.
This type of massage can promote and maintain wellness and may correct internal dysfunctions.
This can be a complete 1 hour session in itself. This is great for those who are uncomfortable with being undressed.

Deep Tissue
Slow strokes and deep finger pressure on tight areas. Reaches deeper layers of muscle tissue and fascia.

Sports
Invigorating strokes with more emphasis on deep compression, deep pressure, deep cross-fiber friction, joint movement and stretching.
